Elmo Hood born in 1989 is a urban and contemporary artist based out of London. His distinctive and colourful style is a mash up of old school street art and graffiti techniques, combined with more traditional methods of pallet knife and brush work. His work is mainly on canvas, however, has been known to use recycled materials, such as fabric and wood with certain pieces. Elmo has also been commissioned to paint murals and street art pieces in London and New York. Most of his work is of a figurative and pop art nature, however a lot of Elmo's recent abstract work has been well received and extremely popular.
In the summer of 2013 Elmo was head hunted by the teenage cancer trust to paint a series of art murals in their new state of the art hospital ward in Southampton. So far he has exhibited internationally in Ibiza, Munich and New York. In September 2013 he created a small collage out of two playing cards which went viral on the internet earning a feature in US Glamour Magazine and retweets from P Diddy, Meek Mill and The Game. His rapid climb in the contemporary art word has turned a lot of heads and his artwork is considered to be highly investable.
