A beautiful oil on canvas painting by French artist Robert Lebrone. He was a Parisian painter known for his colorful cityscapes depicting the times of his generation. His work is comparable to that of Jules Herve, Antoine Blanchard, and Edouard Cortes. This painting is a wonderful example of his work from the prime of his career. It features a coastal scene with two beached boats against a dramatic, colorful backdrop. The composition centers on a weathered red wooden boat grounded on a sandy, rocky shore in the lower center. It has a tall mast with some rigging or spars, and its hull shows horizontal planking with visible texture and wear. To its right sits a smaller, lighter-colored sailboat, also beached, with a single mast leaning slightly. The foreground shore is scattered with stones and pebbles in earthy tones. The background is dominated by vertical streaks of soft, blended colors like whites, soft pinks, lavenders, browns, and muted blues, creating an atmospheric waterfall mystic effect. The painting has an expressionistic style with visible, directional brushstrokes that give the water/sky and rocks a sense of movement and texture. The painting is signed lower right, and it comes housed in a mid-century wooden frame with a gold-toned outer rim and linen liner, with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.

Condition: With ordinary wear from age and some scattered craquelure lower section, otherwise, this painting and its frame are in excellent condition for the time period (please refer to the listing pictures for details).
