This painting is a tremendously vivid and alive street scene of the Place du Parvis in Paris from the 20th Century by Emile Thysebaert. We can see the figures and cars fill the street at Notre Dame in the distance. The use of fast brushwork is noted, and precise attention to detail. An absolutely great work of the times, capturing an ever so fleeting moment from over a century ago. The painting is signed lower right and it comes housed in a beautiful gold tone wood frame with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed. The painting is in excellent condition for the time period and comes displayed in an original antique frame that shows some ordinary wear from age, and minor imperfections in line with the manufacturing period.
