A wonderful rendition of an English Landscape by renowned artist William Emerson, depicting a serene autumnal landscape scene with a lush, green tree on the left side of the composition. The tree's foliage is rendered in rich greens with hints of yellow and brown. There is also a smaller tree towards the right, with striking pinkish-red leaves stands out against the softer tones of the sky and ground. The background features rolling hills in muted greens and blues, fading into the distance under a sky filled with scattered, fluffy clouds tinged with blue and white. This piece was executed by the English country side, where he packed much detail through out. The tonality and thick oil paint are a joy to discover, we are instantly drawn back to the time of the beginning of the 20th Century effortlessly. Emerson is best known for his characteristic views of English landscapes, and this piece is a pertinent example of this, as he championed his brushwork with much fascination and love for nature. This piece is signed by the artist lower left, and it comes house in a vintage aged gold frame with linen liner and hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.
