Maurice Monnard
Maurice Monnard is an American-born artist of European parentage who began to paint at an early age. As an outstanding student of the Parsons School of Design in New York, he completed a four-year course in three years which included Advertising and Fashion. While attending school, he did artwork for the Department store company W. & J. Sloane. Later, he created artistic travel brochures for Pan American Airways. In his travels to London, Paris, the French and Italian Rivieras he was constantly sketching. He remained in Italy for a time to continue his studies in Fine Art. Although his paintings range from Pianissimo 1o Forte, the sensitivity and serenity of his nature are conveyed in every brush stroke.
Monnard was inspired by the French Impressionists and is a great admirer of the Romantic era. All this is reflected in his work. His paintings now hang in many private collections in Europe, Australia, North and South America and are currently selling in leading galleries in Paris, New York, Palm Beach, Montreal, Houston, and Rio de Janeiro. Since his paintings have been steadily increasing in value, Monnard's art is sure to become a valued family heirloom. He has been described as an artist whose line has come and is destined to become an important artist of this century.
